Secure and non-Secure email Solution | Oracle Mailx Integration with Proofpoint Email Solution
1. Overview
This document describes the implementation and configuration of Proofpoint Email Security solution using a Public SMTP Relay. The solution enables secure internal and external email delivery from the public cloud.
2. Pre-requisites
- CyberArk Safe must be active.
- Users must have access to CyberArk to register Non-User IDs.
- A Non-User ID must be created.
- An Email Mailbox must be registered and mapped to the Non-User ID.

3. Solution Architecture
Email delivery is enabled through the Proofpoint Public SMTP Relay, which supports both internal and external email communication.
4. Network and Firewall Pre-requisites
The following firewall whitelisting must be completed prior to configuration:
- SMTP Port:
587 - FQDN:
smtp-us.ser.proofpoint.com - Subnet: Designated subnet range within the Network.
5. ServiceNow (SNOW) Request
After firewall whitelisting is completed, raise a ServiceNow request with the Email_Security_Configuration ServiceNow workgroup including the sending IP(s) and sending email address.
Required Details:
- ASKID / AIDE
- ASKID Name
- SLO Email Address (Service Owner)
- Technical Owner Email Address
- Business Owner Email Address
- Public IP address of the application
- @appmail.optum.com email address
Proofpoint will register a relay user and provide SMTP credentials.
